AMS has done it again, this time with 2 awesome parts for the R35 GTR.
Their Carbon Kevlar roof is 9 lbs lighter than stock. Lowering the car’s center of gravity this much pays big time dividends! But it does so with class, and still accepts the factory headliner.
The Carbon Kevlar trunk continues the trend by shedding 14 lbs vs the factory trunk setup. Fit and finish is spot on, as you would expect.
Both components are offered in your choice of matte or glossy finish.

I’ve been following your blog for a while now Adam, and I really like the content and comments you put up. Good stuff.
However, as much as AMS doesn’t like to share this info with people. They do not make carbon fiber AT ALL. They have a deal, so to speak with Prototype Composite http://www.prototypecomposites.com/ (they’re located in Milwaukee) so not far from AMS HQ……and they provide anything that AMS requests.

I have dealt with AMS for years now and have known Martin since before there was an AMS – when we were all on the GVR4 mailing list discussing making our heavy grocery getters go faster;). While I know AMS farms out this stuff a few things are interesting to me. To be able to offer parts like this with their fit, finish and overall quality at a decent price means a heavy capital investment in time and cash. Plus I love the fact that they chose to work with an outfit rooted in motorsports vs looking to one of the overseas firms and risking the quality. Teaming up with the best is a key to success in business and life – you’re only as good as the company you keep.
