The Belgian Dip

2 Sep

Pastor Maldanado showed he was eager to start work today as indicated by his amazing start. The replays I saw live on tv show he did a typical drag race start. Leave when the yellows go out, not when the greens go on. As a result he jumped from 6th. Perhaps he was determined to show he belonged up front after being penalized 3 positions from qualifying yesterday. But it was still only the side story to Grosjean. Wonder if he’ll be handed his walking papers at the end of the year, as the guy has been involved with/caused numerous crashes this year. As a result of today’s snafu, he knocked out Alonso (1st place in points leading up to the start), and Hamilton along with Perez. Kobayashi, who had qualified himself on the front row in a Sauber of all things, pitted after the start and resumed in last place as carbon shards littered the track. No doubt Grosjean’s a great driver. You don’t get near a shot at F1 unless you have exceptional talent, let alone actually score a ride, but perhaps he’s just not seasoned enough mentally to occupy the seat? Thoughts?
