Interior Refresh

With the nice weather here, it’s time to do some freshening up. We spend so much time agonizing over the right set of wheels, or the right body kit, that the interior often goes overlooked. Yet this is where we spend all our time! A great way to breathe some new life into a tired interior is with a new steering wheel. Buying this stuff correctly the first time is way easier and way cheaper than buying it wrong once and then correcting yourself.

A very rare version of the famous Works Bell Rapfix II Quick Release. This is not cheap, we know, but this is also not a common part, and not something that anyone else in the US has in stock right now. The wait times are usually huge as well. And yes, I am aware other places have it on their website for less…which is just an indicator that they have not ordered it in a long, long, long time, and don’t know what today’s cost on the item is given the exchange rates, etc. This is made by Works Bell for Top Secret and is finished in their signature Gold color. The only place to get this is through Top Secret. Allows 1 touch removal of your aftermarket steering wheel!

What Will I Need to Install It?

There are 2 basic ways you can install an aftermarket steering wheel to your car. The first, and most cost effective is using what is called a standard length hub + the steering wheel of your choice. The second option is to install a short hub, quick release and then the steering wheel. A quick release will let you easily remove the steering wheel when you exit the car, which is a great theft deterrent.

For the hubs and quick releases, we stick to 1 brand – Works Bell Japan. The reason is simple – hubs and quick releases are all they do, and they are the innovators! While others have tried to copy their patented design, it never looks as good, is complete, or lasts as long as Works Bell. Their hubs all come with everything you need, from plug and play resistors to keep your airbag light off, to the torx wrench to remove your stock steering wheel. The quick releases use reliable mechanisms that will not become loose or sloppy over time, unlike the knock offs (like NRG).

The most popular quick release we offer are the Works Bell Rapfix II. These are an interlocking ball bearing design, and offered in a variety of colors, including red, black, blue, orange, silver. These sell for $325 each

Works Bell also offers a new, less expensive quick release called the QRSII. This uses a sliding lever design, and is a stealthier, less expensive alternative to the Rapfix II. These sell for $240 each
