Work Emotion 11RF-T

14 Jan

Brand new for 2011, we are proud to announce a special edition WORK Emotion 11R-FT that is exclusive to WORK Wheels USA. Featuring Matte Gray Silver (MGS) Finish & Matte Gunmetal (MGM) Finish, there is also upgraded sizing, including a long awaited 18×10.5 sizing!

Available only through WORK Wheels USA & our WORK Wheels Authorized Dealers!

This WORK Emotion 11R-FT utlizes WORK Flowforming Technology, also known as spun forming here in the U.S. Sizes range from 17 inch to 18 inch.

The key benefit for flow forming is able to reduce the barrel thickness, thus reducing the weight of the wheel without compromising the strength of the rim barrel. The 11R-FT is a good choice for motorsports racing use or at area where there are smoother roads.

Unlike our competitors’ flow forming wheels, WORK flow forming wheels start with low-pressure cast construction, whereas some of our competitors use lower quality gravity casting.

Low-pressure cast construction has a denser material property over gravity cast wheels, thus allowing a greater strength advantage over gravity cast with flow-forming barrel.

Application available for both front wheel, rear wheel and all wheel drive vehicles. Depending on size and offset, the Emotion 11R-FT is available with semi-concave or deep concave face. Some specs are BBK friendly.

1) 18×10.5 Sizing: The 11R-FT is the first Emotion series to have a 10.5″ width in the 18″ sizing.

2) USA Exclusive Finishes: Matte Gray Silver (MGS) & Matte Gunmetal (MGM) are standard finishes on this Emotion 11R-FT.

3) WORK Flowforming Technology (spun forming): The key benefit for flow forming is able to reduce the barrel thickness, thus reducing the weight of the wheel without compromising the strength of the rim barrel. The 11R-FT is a good choice for motorsports racing use or at area where there are smoother roads. Unlike our competitors’ flow forming wheels, WORK flow forming wheels start with low-pressure cast construction, whereas some of our competitors use lower quality gravity casting.

4) Big Brake Clearance: Due to the design of the 11R-FT, it is very brake friendly to large OEM calipers along with many aftermarket calipers.

5) Reduced Weight: By using WORK Flowforming Technology, WORK Wheels was able to save on average ~2.2 lbs. per wheel, while maintaining the engineering strength and integrity.

Optional center cap available (sold separately).

Sport decal sheet available (sold separately).

Stumbled across these pics of one of our customer cars from MA. I know the whole hella-whatever scene isn’t for everyone, but that’s one of the great thing about the hobby. The car is a blank canvas, and we get to mold them into something that we as enthusiasts want. The guys who love how this type of setup looks are no less passionate about their cars as the guys who hit the track every weekend. Just like the American guys have the purists who want to restore a car to factory condition, the perfectionists who want better than new condition, the rat rod guys who use old beer cans for master cylinder resevoirs, and everything in between. There is room for everyone. If you love your car, and you work hard to turn it into something you want, with quality parts, then it’s all good to us. Pics courtesy of Jesse Godin

I don’t think Corey (owner) necessarily wants me to spill the guts about the specs, but they are the venerable Work Meister S13P in gold, 19’s 🙂 They took awhile to get in from Japan, as it was a totally custom order, and not the usual specs, but the net result was well worth the wait I think. The clean white exterior with the contrast of the gold works so well, and Meisters and 350Z’s are like peanut butter and jelly. Corey also was outfitted with the full range of SPL alignment parts, allowing him to dial in the camber and toe to whatever he wanted.

We’ve been on a little bit of an MR2 kick as of late at the shop, so I found it fitting to post this picture taken by a member of my350z.com. The shot was taken by Calin Crecan at the Hellaflush 5 show.

For Sale: Work Meister S1-3P (Lightly Used)

17 Nov

Up for sale is a set of lightly used Work Meister S1-3P. Sizes are 19×9.5 +24, O disk up front, and 19×11 +22, A disk out back. These came from us originally, and were on Shaun’s car for a few months. They only have a few thousand miles on them. The front tires are in as-new condition, rears could stand to be replaced (twin turbo’s + a VQ = frequent tire purchases!). They are in fantastic shape – no damage, no scratches. They are also assembled using the rarer black rivets. Tires are 265/30/19 up front, 305/30/19 out back, Potenza RE050A, and we are letting them go with our without the tires.

SOLD!

So Marty is currently parting out his G35 show car (still keeping the car, just toning it down) and I thought it deserved some love on the blog.

This is defintely one of my favorite G35s period. This car has so much done to it but its still really really clean (peep the R35 GT-R door handles).

Let’s have a moment of silence…

We blogged this car earlier here.

Well it has been recently been updated with a Voltex kit. It looks alright (I’m not very happy with Voltex at the moment as they are taking forever to ship us a kit for customer).

Some things I will just NEVER understand…

19 Aug

Gheycivic4

There are times when I think to myself, maybe I just have a boring personality. Maybe I’m just not very receptive to change, more so than the average person. I see new things all the time that eventually become trends that I just sit back from afar and say “What the f*** are they thinking by doing that?” Perhaps I’m just getting old… or perhaps I’ll just never understand Civic drivers 😉

Someone please feel free to explain to me WHY someone would do this to a nice set of wheels? This car would look pretty nice sans the ridiculous stickers.

I’d also like to know what is cool about driving around on public roads without a hood?
