One of our readers sent me over some pics of his amazing 300ZX Race Car today. This car was run in the IMSA series by Newman-Sharp in the SCCA GT1 Series. It’s for sale, so if interested, click
A few months ago I showed off a set of Stoptech brakes that were headed to a customer in Norway. Not long ago, Stewart contacted us again for some new wheels to really help set the package off. We shipped out a sweet set of gold OZ Superleggera’s with Advan’s mounted and balanced (along with a set of Rallyarmor flaps). Clean bugeyes are a bit rare nowadays, and this car has all bases covered nicely. The net result is a pretty slick machine. Next up according to Stewart – what else, more power! We look forward to working with you on it!

We’ve added the full range of Project Mu Brake Pads to our ever expanding lineup. We’ve got the full range ready to go – from the NS Street Pad to the Racing 999 Series and everything in between. Of course we’ve got these for the 350Z/G35, but other applications (WRX, STi, Evo, etc) are also available. Give us a shout at (631)863-3820 or on AIM (z1auto) for yours!
My favorite wheel of the moment – wide variety of sizes, good value and weight/dollar, and not everyone and their brother has it (yet?)
Looks good on this Civic Type R
AMS has done it again, this time with 2 awesome parts for the R35 GTR.
Their Carbon Kevlar roof is 9 lbs lighter than stock. Lowering the car’s center of gravity this much pays big time dividends! But it does so with class, and still accepts the factory headliner.
The Carbon Kevlar trunk continues the trend by shedding 14 lbs vs the factory trunk setup. Fit and finish is spot on, as you would expect.
Both components are offered in your choice of matte or glossy finish.

This neat accessory for your engine bay has just been released by Tomei Japan. This stylish cover from Tomei is finished in polished stainless steel, and is the perfect way to dress up your dreary engine bay. Since it is slightly raised, ot also allows the coils to cool off properly vs the factory sealed plate, and it also prevents water from collecting and and around the coilpacks Attaches simply and quickly with standard hand tools, and etched with the Tomei logo. Fits all Evo 4-9 models, except Evo 6’s produced from August 1996-September 1996. To fit it to these specific models, you will need the valve cover from an Evo 6 produced after September 1996.

Brand new and available now (contact us for details!) is Sunline’s awesome new exhaust for the 370Z. Full titanium…full sex!
A few months back I posted up some pics of the CE28N Genesis wheels that we cleared for our good friend Rod. He stopped by a few days ago to show me how they look mounted. Time for the Stoptech rear BBK and maybe some bronze accents to really tie it all together? Rod, next time you’re by, remind me, I have the Anniversary Edition “Z” side emblems that would go really nicely.
This is a perfect street car IMHO – clean, classy, single turbo so it has some get up to it…and reliable! Sorry for the crappy pics, my battery was dying 😦
Nothing much going on today except an oil change for my car. Going to try out a K&N filter this time. No particular reason, except that I ran out of the Wix ones I usually use.
Just got word that this part is about to be stateside, and from a cursory look, it seems sorta interesting. There are several ignition/electrical “booster” systems out there which operate at varying levels of success. 5Zigen’s setup appears to target electrical losses at the coilpacks. These are car specific, and offered for a variety of performance cars including the Evo, WRX/STi, Civic, 350Z, 370Z, G35, G37, RX7, RX8 and tons of others.
I haven’t found alot of info, though I did find this dyno test from Japan, done on a 350Z (I’m going to guess it’s a standard DE, non revup, based on the redline).
MSRP is $350 for the unit, and plug and play harnesses range in price from $60 to $200 each. Anyone interested in testing it out for a discounted rate, let us know!
