We don’t normally think of Hyundai as being a “hot” manufacturer, but I must say – they nailed it with the Genesis coupe.  It obviously took many years of selling POS Excel’s and Scoupe’s to be able to manufacture something this attractive!  It’s a better proportioned version of the G35/37 in my opinion.  A good customer of ours just forwarded us some pics of some modded Genesis coupes.  If pricing is on point, this should be a good selling car for them.

The AMS kit brings some new ideas to the table…

V-band housings:
Each AMS Subaru Turbo Kit incorporates the latest V-band exhaust housings with options for .63, .82 or 1.06 a/r.  The Tial V-band housings not only provide the most horsepower and save weight but they eliminate the need for gaskets and are easier to install.  No more annoying exhaust leaks and no gaskets to replace!

Top Mount & Front Mount Applications:
Another innovative feature of our kit is the option of a 4ply silicone turbo outlet pipe for either a front mount or top mount intercooler.  These custom molded pieces fit better than the OEM pieces and are included at no additional charge! 

Intake Pipe Solutions:
While a unique 3” cold air intake pipe is standard we also provide an option for pull-through or push-through MAF applications.

Factory ECU & MAF Solution:
We provide the option of an industry first 4 ply silcone BOV recirculation tube for cars maintaining the factory ECU and MAF.

Each AMS Subaru Rotated Mount V-band Turbo Kit is hand built here at AMS with a meticulous attention to detail. We know what it’s like to install a turbo kit so we provide all the necessary hardware and detailed instructions for a hassle-free installation. 

With power output ranging from 350 – 650 horsepower we have just about every Subaru owner covered. On just our GT30R kit with a top mount intercooler, fuel and exhaust upgrades we were able to put down 485 whp and over 500 ft. lbs. torque! This same simple combination netted an 11.3 quarter mile time in a full weight 2007 STI on stock tires!!! Imagine what a GT35R can do!

A little while ago we showed you a super clean Z32 Twin Turbo from down south.  Well, we just got pictures of the car with the new carbon/kevlar Bride Gias installed!  With the red stitching accent going well with the shift knob, shift boot and Nardi wheel, this is an interior I’d love to spend time in.  Car looks great Mike, keep it up!

I’m a Porsche-phile, I admit it.  I’ve never owned one, but one day, I hope to.  No other car I can think of has had as much success in worldwide motorsport.  Since I never can seem to leave a car stock,  part of what makes Porsche such a desirable marque to me, is the range of tuners worldwide that specialize in turning them from excellent to exceptional.  Manthey Racing is one such firm.  While they are not as well known to the mass public as Gembella, Techart, or RUF, they represent among the pinnacle in Porsche tuning. 

Manthey Racing began in 1996, as the brainchild of Olaf Manthey.  He began his racing career in a variety of sports sedans and coupes including Ford, BMW, Mercedes and Rover.  While campaigning his race cars on the weekends,  he still kept his day job as a truck driver during the week!  In 1990, he was asked to run for a private team in the Porsche Carrera Cup.  He’s commented that he actually was not impressed with the 911 initially, as he found it insanely tail happy, and it simply would not do what he asked it to.  However, racing was in his blood, and this team was literally begging for him to run the car for them.  He continued in his stint for the privateer team through the season, honing his skills on the 911, eventually taking home the Carrera Cup Championship that year.  He had continued success in the next several years, and in doing so, caught the eye of Mercedes DTM team.  In 1992, he was offered a factory drive position as well as being the technical manager for the team as well.  The truck driver was now a full fledged race car driver, and the rest is the stuff dreams are made of.   The DTM ride lasted for a few years, at which point he decided it was time to strike out on his own.  Manthey Racing was formed in 1996, to prepare cars for the Carrera Cup Series.  Success continued for the Manthey group, culminating with an outright victory at the Nurburging 24 Hour Race in 2006, 2007 and 2008 in their GT3.    They are the only team in the event’s history to win 3 years in a row.  Not too shabby for a former truck driver!  It’s worth mentioning that 2006 was his 25th attempt at victory at this event, including his efforts as a privateer, and driver for other outfits.  Admirable determination to say the least!

As their racing success continued to grow, customer demand grew.  He was now being asked to not only prepare race cars, but street cars as well.  The Manthey approach is more focused than many other tuners out there, especially in the Porsche he world.    Nowadays, it’s very shiek to say that your modifications were honed at the Nurburgring.  For Manthey, the ‘Ring is literally their backyard – it represents far more than just a fancy sticker and a few laps through the forest circuit.  They simply do not believe in modifying something that will not improve the overall performance of the car.  One small example of this is the 997 GT3.  This is the first 911 that Porsche developed with ‘zero lift’.  As such, Manthey feels there is no point in them allocating time and resources towards aero modifications.  Instead, they have focused their efforts on taking the experience they have honed with the Cup Car program, and making it available to all their customers, even those with standard street cars.  Huge effort was spent on weight reduction and weight distribution with the 97 GT3.  So Manthey’s program includes Forged Magnesium wheels, titanium exhaust (50 lbs lighter than stock), and full KW suspension.  Other options include carbon doors, and rear and side windows made of Makrolon.  Narrowly focused mods, by obsessive compulsive gearheads – very cool stuff.

New Blacktop Aero Carbon Rear Diffuser 2008 + STi

Another new, hot product for the GRB STi.  Blacktop Aero has a slick carbon fiber rear diffuser arriving soon.  It attaches simply and easily to the existing rear “diffuser” that is already integrated into the rear bumper.  Will add a nice touch to your STi, especially when combo’d with the new Blacktop Aero carbon front lip.  In addition, there are new carbon aprons that are sold separately, to help round out the rear carbon look as well.  These can be used with or without the diffuser.  To place a preorder, let us know!

New Blacktop Aero Carbon Front Lip 2008 + STi

Hot off the presses!  We’re happy to announce that we’ll soon have these awesome new carbon front lips for the STi arriving very soon!  Awesome fit and finish, and a simple bolt on attachment.  These cars have really grown on me since they were first introduced – with the wide fenders and 5 door design, it’s got a very bulldog appearance to it.  This new lip really sets it off well.

Whiteline just released this very neat device for 2003-2006 350Z’s that have VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control).  VDC is a vehicle stability software program that integrats through the C.A.N network on the Z, and uses the brakes, throttle, and steering angle.  Essentially it’s an anti skid setup.   The problem many have encountered is that on track days, VDC kicks on way too easily, and it really interferes with the fun.   There is a VDC off button, but as owners quickly find out, it’s never really off.

Whiteline now has a controller, that integrates with the factory VDC module, and allows the user to tailor it to best suit their driving style.  Allows you to store presets for various conditions, tracks.  Alot of possibilities seem possible.
