From the factory excess crankcase vapors, residual oil and moisture are vented back into the intake manifold and intercooler which compromises performance and durability. Removing the excess crankcase vapors, residual oil and moisture are accomplished by having two tanks; one tank collects from the intake manifold tract and the second tank collects from each cylinder head. If both were plumbed into the same tank then the crankcase ventilation system could not operate the way it was designed to, the Moroso kit is the only Subaru air separator that accomplishes this. Removing this oil mist before it reenters the engine; reduces detonation, deposits on the intake track including the valves themselves and from lowering the efficiency of the intercooler itself.

World’s Most Complete Evo Timing Belt Kit

As we all know the timing belt is a critical piece of equipment on your Evo. As these cars age and accumulate miles, the belt stretches and performance and reliability can be compromised. Mitsubishi suggests replacing the belt every 60,000 miles under normal use, and if your car is raced, even shorter intervals are suggested. For this reason, we have put together a comprehensive timing belt replacement kit that includes everything needed for a full, complete timing belt replacement job. Alot of times, people take shortcuts on this and only replace the belt itself. Then a few thousand miles down the road, they find some of the other components wearing, or leaking, or making noises that were not there before and are forced to do the whole job over again. Do it right the first time and don’t be caught short. If you’re bringing these parts to your mechanic, he will thank you for giving him all the complete parts needed. If you’re having friends help you with the install over a weekend, when it’s 11PM on a Saturday and there are no parts stores open to replace that noisy idler pulley, you’ll be thankful you got them all as part of the kit.

Cosworth Low Temperature Thermostat

High performance racing engines require upgraded and improved cooling systems for maximum reliability. One important component of the upgraded cooling system is a thermostat that opens to allow coolant passage through the engine and cooling system at reduced temperature compared to the original equipment thermostat. Reducing the temperature by approximately 10 to 15C compared with that of a standard thermostat, the Cosworth LowTemp Motorsport Thermostat improves coolant circulation through the engine by starting the process earlier than the original equipment thermostat.
Cosworth LowTemp Motorsport Thermostats are engineered with the optimum temperature range in mind for high performance racing use as it is very easy to over cool the engine by either removing the thermostat completely or using a thermostat that is not designed for the specific application. Additionally, over cooling can cause engine damage by preventing critical engine components from reaching their ideal operating temperature, altering the required clearances for safe operation. Another important feature of Cosworth LowTemp Thermostats is the ability to precisely control the flow of coolant when the valve opens. Unstable temperatures and even temperature fluctuation can cause severe engine damage and make it difficult to properly tune or calibrate the engine.

One of the seldom-weak points of 4G63 is rising of oil temperature. It is seen more often in circuit driving. Evo uses thermo switch that will work when the temperature gets around 85 degrees C. Yet when the oil temp is low, it will restrict oil flow to the oil cooler and raise the temperature of oil consequently. TOMEI oil thermo killer lets oil to flow into the oil cooler constantly regardless of its temperature. Still, it is easy to put it back to stock thermo switch in winter to prevent over cool.
